Everyone has a role to play in the prevention and control of healthcare-associated infection (HCAI). Learners can explore the effects of healthcare-associated infections, how they are spread and how to help to prevent the spread of infection.
Infection prevention and control is now a major priority for the health sector. This course has been developed for all non-clinical staff working in the health sector, to ensure that we all share the same understanding and good practice in this area.

- Ability to describe and explain the consequences of healthcare-associated infections (HCAI) and how they spread
- Describe the impact healthcare-associated infections have on patients and your duty of care to patients
- Describe how hand hygiene, personal protective equipment management of blood, body fluids, sharps, the environment and care equipment helps prevent the spread of infection
Certificate
On successful completion of this course learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement award from HRUK Group.

Course Format
This course is delivered online via E-Learning. Learners of the course will receive instant access to our interactive student learning portal, which offers 24/7 access to the courses.
Course Duration
All of our Speciality, Mandatory or Multi Sector Online courses require a minimum of between 1 & 2 hours to complete in full. This is only a guide to the learning hours required and it depends on how quickly an individual can absorb the information. The learning is online so it can be spread out over multiple sessions or done in one session.
Learners will have access to this course for 12 months from the date of accessing the course for the first time. There is no time limit to complete the course during this 12 month period.
The assessment can be re-taken as many times as the learner requires at no extra cost. We must advise that the questions do change each time. All of our Speciality, Mandatory or Multi Sector Online courses are designed to teach as well as assess.
