Description
The Immediate Life Support (ILS) Course is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the essential skills and knowledge needed to effectively manage a patient experiencing a medical emergency, prior to the arrival of an advanced life support team. This comprehensive course covers core aspects of life support and practical emergency care, following Resuscitation Council UK guidelines.
Key Objectives
- Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) effectively.
- Demonstrate the recovery position for patient safety.
- Understand and practice the insertion of different airways (oropharyngeal, nasopharyngeal, and supraglottic airways).
- Administer Buccal Midazolam for seizure management.
- Safely use an adrenaline auto-injector for anaphylaxis.
- Understand and insert a supraglottic airway for airway management.
- Use suction to maintain a clear airway.
- Operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) effectively.
- Administer and manage oxygen therapy as required.
- Recognize the indications for and safely provide immediate life support interventions.
