The ILM Level 7 Certificate and Diploma for Executive and Senior Level Coaches and Mentors are nationally recognised qualifications that build the practical capability to coach and mentor at a senior or executive level.
- Awarding Body: ILM (part of City & Guilds)
- Duration: Approx. 12 months part-time
- Format: Five live virtual training days (2 + 1 +2 structure) plus coaching practice and 4 hours of group supervision
- Assessment: Three written assignments and evidence of real coaching practice
- Support: Dedicated coach-mentor-supervisor and ILM membership resources
Aim of the Programme
The ILM Level 7 aims to develop the advanced knowledge, behaviours and capabilities required to operate as a senior-level executive coach or internal consultant.
You'll learn to:
- Understand the strategic purpose of coaching and mentoring at executive and senior levels
- Analyse the advanced knowledge, skills, behaviours and ethical practice required for impactful coaching and mentoring.

Requirements
The qualification is made up of three mandatory units which enable participants to understand, develop and demonstrate knowledge and skills in coaching and mentoring. You are required to submit three pieces of written work:
- Understanding the Principles and Practice of Effective Coaching and Mentoring at an Executive or Senior Level.
- Undertaking Coaching or Mentoring at an Executive or Senior Level
- Reflecting on Your Ability to Perform Effectively as a Coach or Mentor at an Executive or Senior Level
You are also required to complete 4 hours of group supervison and show evidence for 20 hours of formal coaching practice.
