Description
In this course you will gain a greater insight into HR, which is perfect for those new to HR to introduce you to the roles and responsibilities HR have and for existing HR managers wanting to re-fresh their knowledge.
You will look at what HR is and why it is important for an organisation, you will also learn about the roles and responsibilities HR have in an organisation. You will also learn about the importance of GDPR and confidentiality and the employment law legislation.
You will also cover the recruitment and selection process and will learn how an organisation could face claims of discrimination, and costly fines, if it doesn’t follow the correct procedure. You will learn about the performance management cycle and appraisals/performance reviews, as well as how to deal with underperformers.
Employee relations will also be covered in detail and why it is important to have healthy working environments and policies and procedures in place. You will then look at the disciplinary process and how to ensure any dismissals are done using a reasonable procedure and for a legally fair reason.
In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.
You will earn 3 CPD points on completion of the course, this course will take around 3 hours to complete and the certificate will last for two years.

Units Covered
- Unit 1 – Introduction to HR – In the first unit of the HR course, you will be introduced to HR, including what HR is and why it is important for organisations, you will also look at the roles and responsibilities of HR.
- Unit 2 – Recruitment and Selection – In this unit you will examine the recruitment and selection process and why it is important to ensure an organisation’s procedures work and are legally compliant.
- Unit 3 – Managing Performance – This unit will cover the importance of performance management, including the performance management cycle, appraisals/performance reviews, training and development, as well as dealing with underperformers.
- Unit 4 – Employee Relations – In this unit you will examine employee relations, including healthy working environments, wages, equality, policies and procedures, as well as how to motivate staff.
- Unit 5 – Dealing with Disciplinaries/Dismissals – In the final unit of our HR course, you will look at the disciplinary procedure and how to ensure any disciplinary that results in dismissal is done using a reasonable procedure and for a legally fair reason.
