You don't need to be working in a job to study this recognised qualification.

The objective of this qualification is to prepare learners with specific knowledge, skills and understanding for those working or preparing to work in any care setting, including adult social care, health care settings, etc.

Around 1.5 million people work in adult social care in England, and the need for more workers in adult social care continues to rise.

It is important that care workers have up-to-date support and guidance that allows them to provide the best care possible for the people they work with.

If you would like to work in adult social care, this fully online course will help you gain the knowledge to work in the sector.

This course prepares you for any role within adult social care, in order to ensure the needs of vulnerable people continue to be met.

You will learn about person-centred care and safe working practices, as well as the importance of safeguarding, equality and diversity, and duty of care.

This qualification is open to all in England and Northern Ireland. There are no eligibility criteria.

Learners have to provide an address in England or Northern Ireland where their hard-copy certificates will be sent.

How learning is delivered

Online delivery through our world-class LMS providing online learning materials, online course discussions, with support by tutor and assessor,

How Learning is Assessed
The learner's knowledge and understanding are assessed through a series of written questions and workbooks which are assessed by a qualified Assessor within the e-Portfolio.

Learners will be guided and supported to prepare for assessments.

There are no workplace visits. All assessments will be done and signed off by the Assessor, and there is no need to involve your Manager or your Employer.

Completion and Certification, according to RQF rules for regulated qualifications

On completion, the learner's portfolio of assessment evidence is quality-assured by the IQA (Internal Quality Assurer) according to the rules of RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework).

After the IQA has signed off the learner's work as meeting the standards, the portfolio of evidence is submitted to the Awarding Body, Highfield Qualifications. The awarding body EQA (External Quality Assurer, equivalent to external examiner) will then conduct external quality assurance, according to the rules of RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework). The awarding body then signs off the learner's work as completed according to Ofqual regulations.

The learner is then awarded qualification certificates for the Highfield Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care (RQF) by Highfield Qualifications (Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance).

The learner gets two certificates (all included in the fees paid, so no extra payment needed):

  • A digital certificate, issued by the awarding body, Highfield Qualifications
  • A hard copy certificate, issued by the awarding body, Highfield Qualifications. We post this original hard-copy certificate by registered mail to the learner, because it is the only original and cannot be lost.
