**Level 4 Certificate for Higher Level Teaching Assistants (RQF)**

Course Duration
- Guided Learning Hours (GLH):
Guided Learning Hours include all contact time, guidance, or supervision provided by a lecturer, supervisor, tutor, trainer, or other educational professional. For this qualification, the GLH is 87 hours.
- Total Qualification Time (TQT):
Total Qualification Time consists of both the GLH and the estimated hours a learner will spend on preparation, study, or any learning activity, including assessment, that takes place under their own direction but not supervision. One credit is equal to 10 hours of learning. For this qualification, the TQT is 360 hours.
Assessment
Assessment for this qualification is based on tutor-marked assignments. After completing each unit, learners will answer a series of comprehensive questions, which will be marked by a tutor. All assignments must also be assessed by a professional.
To maintain quality and consistency, assignments undergo both internal and external moderation, ensuring all standards are met by learners and assessors alike.
NB: At least 50 hours of work placement within a school is required to accomplish this assessment. The work setting can either be a primary, secondary or special school with pupils aged 5+ and studying Key Stage 1 or above.
As a part of this placement, learners will require a member with occupational competence in supervising and signing the witness testimonies, to ensure they have gained the work-based learning outcomes of this programme properly.
Method of Assessment
- Assessment activities consist of a few short assignments that you have to complete to show evidence of general reading while adding references to your work.
- All assignments should be submitted via the online portal.
- All learning outcomes must be met to achieve a Pass – there is no grading.
Certification
Successful candidates will be awarded a Level 4 Certificate for Higher Level Teaching Assistants (RQF) from Focus Awards Limited.
You will also get CPD accredited Teach the Teachers Level 3, Education Management, Educational Psychology and Development, Lesson Planning for Teaching, and Home Education courses certificates from Apex Learning.
