The Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant Certificate is a regulated qualification approved by Ofqual demonstrating to employers that you have the necessary skills as an HLTA.
An HLTA has an increased level of responsibility within the classroom, more so than a standard teaching assistant.
Before you can complete this qualification, you must be working as a teaching assistant or be able to obtain voluntary or paid work experience in a school, as the role of an HLTA is to significantly improve the classroom and have impact on pupil progress. The time spent in the school should be a minimum of 50 hours.
Total Qualification Time (TQT) for this qualification 360 hours. Total credits for the qualification is 36.
