Functional skills maths level 2 is a GCSE maths equivalent that enhances employment prospects but also enables learners to gain access on to further and higher education courses.

Description

Online Functional Skills Exam

Our functional skills maths level 2 qualification is an online exam that you can take at home. We offer flexible booking times so that you can take your exam during the day, evenings or even at a weekend if required. MME is committed to offering the cheapest online functional skills maths level exam available.

Study Hours

It takes around 45 hours of study to complete this course but this time can be reduced if you are actively studying maths or have previously prepared for a functional skills exam.

Course Materials

The MME course materials are freely available for all students to access. This gives you a full topic list of what is in the exam, revision notes to learn from, practise questions and even exam style questions to get you ready for test day. We even have a full online mock that you can take to make sure you are comfortable with the online set up.

Assessment

The level 2 maths exam is 2 hours long. You select the day you want to take the exam and then at the specified time an invigilator will send you an exam link via email. You open the exam link and the invigilator will talk you through the instructions, it is very straight forward.

Results

After the exam, if you are successful, a formal qualification will be awarded. This qualification can be used to gain access on to further education courses or to help applications to specific jobs. You will receive your results via email and then a certificate shortly after this.

Tuition

MME has the very functional skills maths tutors who specialise in the exam and help learners on a one to one basis to overcome the challenges that maths presents. Our tuition fees are in addition to the course fee advertised, but we do reduce the cost of this for people who book the exam with us.

Is there certain time scale we have to complete the course and sit the exam within?

Answer:

You can take as long as you wish to complete the course, some people take a few days others take a few months. You can then sit the exam when you're ready.

Answer:

Yes the exam is conducted through a video call and the invigilator will carry out ID checks, room checks and then watch you complete the exam. All formal examination procedures are adhered too.

The exams are sat online at your own home, so there is no need to go to an exam centre. The exams are Ofqual regulated and government approved. If you have any further questions please let me know.

You can resit and we reduce the cost of the exam and also provide additional support in the form of an expert tutor to ensure you pass your next attempt. The cost of the course is included in the exam fee.

Hi, Usually when sitting the exams all providers have to charge for resits as we incur the same costs again, however I know that we will be introducing a new offer for the month of October only where we offer totally free resits to anyone who has paid for their exam between now and the end of October. You can pay now and book in your attempt at anytime, as long as you give us 1 weeks notice, and you will qualify for a free resit. Please keep this message as evidence of the offer.

FAQs

What does study method mean?

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At reed.co.uk courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

What are CPD hours/points?

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on reed.co.uk, many of which can be completed online.

What is a ‘regulated qualification’?

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

What is an ‘endorsed’ course?

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body’s logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as ABC Awards and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
