Overview

The Level 3 First Aid at Work Refresher course is taught over one classroom day (6 hours) + e-learning (6 hours). The course is suitable for those who have previously completed the full 3 day course and who just need to refresh their knowledge.

Once complete candidates receive the full Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for three years. The certificate is nationally approved through the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) and is fully recognised by the HSE. Making it suitable for construction workers and other job rules to meet the requirements of their industry.

Description

The classroom day of training focuses on emergency first aid whereby learners practice their skills again and get updated on any changes to the guidelines. Expect to learn the following topics and many more:

  • How to check breathing
  • Recovery position
  • CPR & AED
  • Major bleeding
  • Choking

The online learning module focuses on the recognition and management of illness and injury within the workplace. This includes looking at topics such as heart attacks, strokes and diabetes and many more.

A nationally recognised certificate is issued once both elements of the course are complete.

  • High risk industry like forestry, mining and off shore

Requirements

The only pre entry requirement is that candidates have the Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate, which has not expired by more than 28 days. Once this time frame has lapsed candidates are required to complete the level 3 First Aid at Work (3 day) course.

Career path

The qualification can be used for people who want to work as a volunteer at sporting events and festivals.

It is also suitable for first aid instructors both new and old.

Construction workers can use the qualification as part of their continuing professional development.
