Description
Meetings are often cited as an example of some of the worst, most tiresome and ineffective aspects of working life. Given that so many people involved in managing meetings have had no training in doing so, this is not surprising.
But, meetings do not have to be a waste of time or a significant bind. There are ways and means of making sure that they are productive and even energizing – and that is precisely what this course is all about.
Meetings are resource intensive (ten people attending a 90-minute meeting is the equivalent of two full days of work for an individual), and yet people commonly complain that the meetings they go to are often ineffective in taking matters forward and may actually be a complete waste of time. Poor meetings are not only a waste of valuable time, but also sap energy, lower morale and generally make working life more unpleasant than it needs to be. They can also harm the reputation, standing and credibility of the person chairing the meeting.
This course offers practical guidance on how to make sure that meetings are successful in achieving their aims and therefore justify the time and effort that go into them.
