Description
Interviews are an important means of gathering information, establishing facts and being well prepared to make informed decisions. The course is in four parts. The first explores the common elements – that is, the principles of good practice that apply to any form of interviewing.
The second focuses on recruitment interviewing and the challenges of making sure the best candidate for the job is chosen. The third examines investigative interviewing (for example, in relation to complaints, disciplinary matters, grievances and so on), giving you the opportunity to reflect on what is involved. The fourth is concerned with therapeutic interviewing, by which is meant any form of interviewing that is geared towards providing support and assistance (in health and care settings, for example).
Dr Neil Thompson is an expert in human relations and wellbeing with many years’ experience of training people in communication skills, including interviewing. In this course he draws on that experience and expertise to provide a solid foundation of understanding that should enable you to develop your knowledge, skills and confidence in relation to various forms of interviewing.
If your work involves you in interviewing, then this course will provide you with helpful guidance on how to get the best results.
