This InternationalA Level Chemistry will give you essential knowledge and understanding of different areas of the subject and how they relate to each other. You will gain a deep appreciation of the skills, knowledge and understanding of scientific methods. You will also become competent and confident in a variety of practical, mathematical and problem solving skills and develop an interest in and enthusiasm for the subject, including developing an interest in further study and careers associated with the subject.

Students completing the AS Level will complete the following modules:

Unit 1: Structure, Bonding and Introduction to Organic Chemistry

Unit 2: Energetics, Group Chemistry, Halogenoalkanes and Alcohols

Unit 3: Practical Skills in Chemistry I

Students completing the Full A Level will complete the above AS modules, and the following:

Unit 4: Rates, Equilibria and Further Organic Chemistry

Unit 5: Transition Metals and Organic Nitrogen Chemistry

Unit 6: Practical Skills in Chemistry II

AS Level Chemistry Exams
There are three exams for the AS Level qualification.

A Level Chemistry Exams
There are six exams for the full A Level qualification.

Who is this course for?

The course encourages creative thinking and problem-solving skills which are transferable to any future career path. International AS and A Level Chemistry is ideal for students who want to study Chemistry or a wide variety of related subjects at university or to follow a career in science.

Requirements

It is recommended that students should be educated to GCSE Grade C or equivalent and have a reasonable standard of literacy. You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 24 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.
