Description
What are dreams? What do they tell us about ourselves? Can their interpretation provide meaningful insight into our lives? The Dream Analysis & Therapy Diploma Course answers these questions – diving deep into your dream state and giving you practical techniques to unravel and analyse your dreams.
Dreams have always been part of the human experience; we kick off the course by looking at the historical value of dreams and introduce dream analysis as presented by various therapeutic approaches. From here, we go on to explore the relationship between dreams and memory, as well as the various sources of dreams.
You may already know that much of dream analysis has its roots in Freudian ideology. With this in mind, we explore the basic tenets of Freud’s psychoanalysis, including topographic and structural theories and the Freudian view of dreams, before delving into traditional Freudian dream analysis, how he prepared patients for analysis and the method of interpretations used.
From this traditional viewpoint, we move onto other approaches. We explore the Adaptive Paradigm, how things have changed in psychoanalysis and how that affects dream theory, modern methods for dream analysis in psychoanalysis, Gestalt Dream Therapy, and Jungian dream analysis – including a look at symbols, archetypes, and how a Jungian dream analysis is conducted.
The Dream Analysis & Therapy Diploma Course concludes with an overview of common dream interpretations, as you discover the possible meanings behind the symbols, colours, animals, and people who often appear in dreams.
