Description

This course is designed to take you from a complete beginner to a fully qualified electrician, by providing you with a thorough grounding in electrics and electrical principles. It covers a number of City & Guilds qualifications; Part P Defined scope, Part P Full scope and 18th Edition of IET Wiring Regulations.

The main objective of this training course is to give you the “hands-on” knowledge and practical skills for your chosen trade, regardless of your current level of ability. This is a uniquely structured blended learning program, delivered by a combination of theory and practical skills acquisition.

The practical training is designed to complement the course – not only bringing into context the theory you have learnt at home, but also giving you the knowledge, skills and experience you need to work competently and safely in your chosen trade.

Course Benefits

Accredited fully equipped state of the art training centres with workshop and classroom facilities, staffed by expert tutors with many years’ industry experience.

NVQ on site: Rapid NVQ certification – convert your technical certification to a full NVQ in as little as 3 weeks.
Continue in your current job and earn money until you are ready to start work in your new career.
Learn at your own pace and take breaks between modules as and when you require.
Access to expert tutors to help with any queries, both at the centre when you do your practical workshops by phone and email.

On successful completion of all the aspects of the training course, you have the option to move up and complete an NVQ. This cannot be achieved at a training centre and without the underpinning knowledge, but only by completing a portfolio of diverse evidence of onsite work. Our recommended training providers offering courses in electrics run their own construction projects which presents a unique opportunity for you to convert your City & Guilds technical qualifications into an NVQ with them in as little as 3 weeks.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
