The Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing programme is 12-18 months flexible study course which prepares you for both internal and external assessment requirements of the awarding body NCFE CACHE .
After successful completion, learners can register to be a Dental Care Professional on the GDC list.

We will also provide you with essential CPD training such as Basic Life Support and Medical Emergencies in the Dental Surgery environment with certification to boost your confidence in performing your daily roles and responsibilities as a Dental Nurse.

Course media


Learners will experience taught sessions with combinations of classroom ,online and and other multimedia platforms such as Microsoft teams and zoom facilitated by our experienced tutors to impact knowledge on the key principles and practices of dental nursing.

Lessons will cover all 17 units which are mandatory and geared towards preparing you for the 2 major external MCQ examination set by the awarding body.

As per Government directives with Covid - 19 pandemic and social distancing, lessons will begin with webinars in September and later face-to-face interactions twice a month when directives are lifted or safe to do so with minimum 16hrs/w surgery placement to meet the clinical exposure and competence level. This gives you the advantage to learn and earn whilst practicing the new normal of performing activities.

Who is this course for?

The course is open to everyone with minimum age of learner at 16.

Basic knowledge in functional skills Maths and English is essential to enable you complete your course work satisfactorily.


Basic Functional Skills entry 3 level 1( Maths , English and ICT ) or equivalent.
All applicants will undertake an in house assessment as part of skill scan.

No experience in the dental filed id required.

How many hours/days is required to attend in the classroom? Also, do I require to do a placement or work in the dental practice while I’m studying?


Lessons have been designed to be twice a month lasting maximum of 6hours on every session (contact time covers - presentation of knowledge, portfolio building, assignment support, examination preparation and guidance, one-to-one support required and feedback). Learners are required to be in a dental clinical environment for their clinical experience and exposure spending minimum 16 hours per week until fully graduated.

Dear Martina, Thanks for your enquiry. This course is officially a classroom based 2x attendance a month designed programme, however due to the Government directive on social distancing and with the global pandemic of COVID -19 , initial presentations will be delivered via video and audio conferenced at scheduled times with tutor present at hand to provide maximum support and guidance until everything returns to normalcy where class room meeting will be arrange.

What does study method mean?
