Will completing this course make you an FCA regulated financial advisor? Do you get a Statement of Professional Standing? Anything else needed?
Hi, The DiPFA will give you the correct FCA qualification as a financial adviser. This is not your SPS, this you must apply for once you are advising and have been deemed competent (you can apply to the LIBF). To be deemed competent you must have the full qualification and be supervised until you can advise unsupervised. This was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
Gareth Edwards asked:
I’m a social worker with excellent communication skills seeking career change. At 56 would I get work if I did this qualification?
Dear Gareth, Thank you for your message. Please note there is no age limit or minimum qualification required to complete your DiPFA qualification or work within the industry. The advantage of this qualification is that you can work as an employed adviser (you would have to work as a trainee or a paraplanner until you are deemed competent) or self-employed. The qualification is the minimum requirement, the soft skills are built upon once you start the role. This was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
