The Diploma for Financial Advisers (DiPFA®) is an industry qualification, providing individuals with the appropriate qualification to become a Financial Adviser. Financial Advisers assist clients to select the most appropriate financial planning and investment solutions from a vast range of products. DiPFA® gives candidates the professional regulatory qualification and the knowledge to enter the industry, whether as an employed or self-employed adviser. Good quality financial advice can cover a huge spectrum - from protection, retirement planning, investment choices and management, through to tax and estate planning. Description

Clarity FT is a recognised training provider approved by the London Institute of Banking and Finance (the awarding body for the qualification). The DiPFA qualification consists of 3 modules:
Module 1: Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics (FSRE) is the regulatory foundation module required for any professional qualification. The module helps candidates understand how financial markets and financial products work. It also covers how firms and individuals are authorised and regulated in the UK.
- Exam: One 2 hour exam with 90 standalone questions and 2 case studies with 5 questions each. 70% pass mark required.
Module 2: Coursework – this module covers all the relevant technical areas required to deliver financial advice. Students are required to submit a 4000 word dissertation after 4 months, where they must research and understand technically the topic area provided. Communication is tested by the student’s ability to communicate the piece to the selected target group. Students must also complete 4 short questions.
- Exam: The coursework must be submitted online before the stated submission date.
Module 3: Written exam (Fact find) - The final module looks at applying the knowledge gained in the previous modules and testing the ability to formulate the knowledge in practise via a case study provided as a fact find given 6 weeks before. Students must formulate their recommendations via a report within the time frame.
- Exam: One 3 hour written exam set on a specified date. 50% pass mark required.
Combined Distance and Web based: Split over three sessions
- Distance learning: 3 month home study with tutor support and monthly webinar technical workshop. FSRE (Regulation multiple choice module)
- Real time webinar: 2 day coursework course (tailored specifically to the pre released question) and 2 day course to cover the final exam (tailored specifically to the pre released factfind). Courses are run during the week and weekend.
Over the time frame we help break down the entire syllabus to enable students to understand the content and to pass their exams with confidence. Full tutor support is provided. We offer a pass guarantee. This means students can re-attend any course that they have failed for free (please note there will be a resit fee with the LIBF and new material cost (if applicable).
Who is this course for?
The course is for any person who wants to gain a professional qualification to be able to advise on protection, pensions, investments and tax and estate planning.
Requirements
There are no entry requirements. Students that have past financial experience and good numerical skills are at an advantage.
Career path
On completion of the qualification students can become either an employed or a self-employed financial adviser. Qualified financial advisers can offer holistic financial planning or choose to specialise as a wealth manager, pensions specialist, protection specialist, estate planning specialist or specialise in implementing employer benefits.
