Criminal Forensic Psychology studies the criminal minds, how they think, and what motivates them to commit a crime. The goal of the study is to determine how to prevent crimes from being committed, which also aids criminal proceedings in a court of law.

Forensic psychologists deal with a wide variety of legal matters like examining the minds of criminal defendants, dispute resolution, jury selection, and much more.

Description

At the end of this course, students shall learn how to: (1) define and understand the importance of forensic psychology; (2) use psychology to understand criminals; (3) relate forensic psychology to law; (4) profile offenders; (5) carry out witness interviews; (6) use psychology to prevent crime; (7) assess psychopaths; (8) understand law and criminal forensic psychology; and (9) use criminal forensic psychology in court processes.

To achieve these goals, this course shall make use of interactive materials to present the concepts of the topics to be discussed. Assessments shall be done after the entire course to check for knowledge retention and understanding.

Criminal forensic psychologists are also asked to provide expert testimonies in court.

Course Format

This course is divided into several modules and is delivered online through our interactive learning management system. Students are given access to the learning portal where they can access the course 24/7. This gives them complete control over the pace of their learning while also enabling them to study from home, in their offices or from a laptop while traveling.

Course Duration:

Normative or minimum period of study to complete this is 45 hours. Take note that this is only an estimate.
