Manual Handling - 45 minutes
- Understanding the physiology of the human body and subsequently how manual handling injuries occur
- Knowing the most common causes of manual handling injuries
- Knowing how to undertake a manual handling risk assessment (see Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992)
- Developing knowledge of common symptoms of manual handling injuries
- Conducting save lifts, including; team lifts, pushing & pulling, lifting from heights
- Understanding how to use common mechanical aids.
Working At Height - 80 minutes
- Safe practice at work
- Potential hazards and risks
- Health and safety regulations
- Good risk assessment practice
- Equipment use and care
- Responding to incidents
Preventing Slips, trips and falls - 15 minutes
- Understand legislation relating to slips, trips and falls
- Know the most common causes of STF injuries
- Understand the role of risk assessments
- Know why it is important to prevent slips, trips and falls
- Understand what can cause slips, trips and falls from a height
- Know what can be done to prevent slips, trips and falls
- Be aware of your role in preventing slips, trips and falls
CERTIFICATION:
Through out the course there are short 'Knowledge Checks'.
At the end of the course is a 20 question assessment.
To successfully complete the course candidates are required to achieve 80% in the final assessment. The assessment may be retaken as often as required.
On successful completion candidates will be automatically emailed their completion certificate.
The completion certificate contains the candidate name, course title, date and a validation code which can be authenticated via echo3education.
Some courses also offer a digital badge so your success can be shared online through websites like Linkedin. Sharing the digital badge requires free third party software. echo3education are happy to explain the process.
