Conflict can occur in any workplace; it is a natural part of working with people with different personalities and different role responsibilities. Anyone who works with people as part of their role may, at some point, risk encountering conflict, as it is a natural part of any workplace. How to manage these situations effectively is an important business and life skill that can prevent these situations from escalating.
The best way to resolve conflicts is to prevent them from happening in the first place, you will explore how you can prevent conflict from occurring in the workplace, including staff training and changing workplace layout.
In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.

- Unit 1 – Introduction to Conflict Management – In the first unit of our conflict management course, you will explore what conflict is, the types of conflict, signs of conflict, who is at risk and the consequences of conflict. You will also learn why conflict management training is important.
- Unit 2 – How to Minimise Conflict in the Workplace – In this unit you will learn ways to minimise conflict, including a conflict risk assessment and the 6-step process for carrying out a risk assessment. You will also learn employer and employee duties when it comes to conflict.
- Unit 3 – Preventing Conflict in the Workplace – This unit will explore the best ways to resolve conflict, including behavioural changes, preventative procedures, staff training, changing job roles/design/ hours, having one-to-ones and seeking professional help.
- Unit 4 – How to Handle Conflict in the Workplace – In the final unit of our conflict management course, you will learn how you can handle conflict, including informal discussions, dealing with confrontation, intervening, mediation and reporting and recording incidents.
