  • Fire Safety Awareness
  • Infection Prevention and Control

  • Safeguarding Children (Level 1 & 2)
  • Conflict Management
  • Lone Working

Which Type Of Mandatory Training Do I Need?

The type of mandatory training you need depends on the service you provide. Many NHS Trusts, medical locum agencies and nursing/care agencies that supply staff through the 'frameworks' are now required to complete mandatory training that is aligned to the Skills for Health Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF).

The 'All in One Day' Mandatory Training Course is not aligned to the 'Skills for Health' Core Skills Training Framework. It is the responsibility of the client to select the mandatory training that is appropriate for for their service.

Certification for the all in one day mandatory training courses

All our online courses are accredited and in line with the universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) standards. The CPD standards require a robust process of content development, peer review and compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements. Once you have successfully completed the knowledge test, you will be sent a CPD accredited certificate via email.

What is mandatory training?

Mandatory training is the compulsory training that is deemed essential by an organisation for the safe and efficient delivery of services. Mandatory training is designed to reduce organisational risks and comply with local or national policies and government guidelines. Some health and social care organisations use the terms essential or compulsory training as a ‘catch all’ phrase to cover both statutory and mandatory training.

What is statutory training?

Statutory training is the training required by law or where a statutory body (such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has instructed an organisation to provide training on the basis of specific legislation, for example, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (MHSWR) 1999. Health & social care employers often describe statutory training as ‘essential’ or ‘compulsory’ training. Statutory training ensures that staff have the knowledge to maintain a safe and healthy working environment for themselves and their colleagues.

There are many benefits off completing your mandatory training with The Mandatory Training Group, including:

Is the all in one day mandatory training usable for NMC revalidation?

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) requires registered nurses and midwives to complete 'revalidation' every 3 years. As part of their NMC revalidation process, nurses and midwives have to show evidence that they attended continuing professional development (CPD) of up to 40 hours over the three year period.

The Mandatory Training Group's Skills for Health CSTF aligned mandatory training course can be used as part of your 'participatory' learning hours as required by the NMC. All nurses and midwives who attend our CSTF aligned courses are free to use The Mandatory Training group's certificates as evidence of CPD for revalidation requirements.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
