Description

This course reinforces the key principles of supervising health and safety on construction sites. Delegates will revisit essential topics such as risk assessments, method statements, occupational health awareness, and effective communication with the workforce.

It also covers recent updates in legislation, guidance, HSE priorities, and how these changes affect supervisory roles. Through group discussions, case studies, and practical scenarios, supervisors will strengthen their ability to monitor site activities, implement control measures, and promote a positive safety culture.

By the end of the SSSTS Refresher course, delegates will:

  • Understand recent changes to construction health and safety legislation

  • Refresh their knowledge of the supervisor’s responsibilities under H&S law and site procedures

  • Improve their confidence in delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings

  • Recognise how to effectively monitor site activities and intervene when unsafe practices occur

Certification:
Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an updated CITB Site Safety Plus SSSTS certificate, valid for five years.

Requirements

Entry Requirements:
A valid, in-date SSSTS certificate is required. If your certificate has expired, the full two-day SSSTS course will need to be retaken.
