CIM Professional Certificate in Marketing
Description
Your mandatory modules are:
Marketing (Mandatory module). September - November
This course is about recognising the importance of marketing’s role in driving success and delivering results. It provides the knowledge and understanding of the function of marketing within the organisation and demonstrates how an appreciation of customer behaviour can enable effective targeting.
It outlines an understanding of how external environmental influences affect planning and how information enables decision making. It outlines the elements of the marketing mix and how these are applied to address market and customer needs. This module promotes the importance of effective internal and external communications in building sustainable relationships and delivering customer value.
This course:
- recognises the importance of communications planning in delivering marketing solutions.
- explains how product and brand management can enable organisations to deliver customer value
- outlines the components of the marketing communications mix
- enables understanding of integrated marketing communications (IMC) planning
Integrated Communications (Mandatory module). January - March
This module promotes the importance of effective internal and external communications in building sustainable relationships and delivering customer value.
This module recognises how deeper knowledge of customer requirements within different contexts allows organisations to enhance the customer experience. It provides the skills and understanding to assess customer expectations in context and to develop and deliver activities that meet those expectations.It introduces customer experience frameworks and highlights how to establish effective monitoring and measurement techniques that ultimately enable organisations to improve customer experience.
This course:

Digital Marketing. April - June
This module is about appreciating the importance of the ever-evolving, dynamic digital landscape, and understanding how to develop skills to improve digital marketing effectiveness.
It provides awareness of the nature of the challenges and opportunities within the digital environment and outlines the skills and tools required to support and enhance marketing activities.
It identifies the importance of effective digital monitoring and measurement techniques that enable organisations to improve digital marketing effectiveness performance.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
The module comprises three units with two learning outcomes each.
Each learning outcome will be covered by the related assessment criteria and will be assessed by way of examination.
The examination will comprise 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in a two-hour controlled assessment.
The assessments cost an additional £130 per module payable to CIM directly.

You will need to submit a current copy of you CV, along with your diagnostic test (if applicable).Please enquire for more details.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
To gain the CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing, a pass in both mandatory modules plus one elective module is required. However, each module can be taken as a standalone module to gain a module award.
Textbooks, course materials, CIM membership and examinations/assessments fees are not included in the course fees.
Who is this course for?
This qualification is aimed at those who are working in supporting marketing roles, usually within the marketing function, but also targets individuals in more senior roles, particularly in SMEs, where marketing is only part of what they do.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications: Not applicable
This qualification is the equivalent to the first year of a foundation degree, which means you will need to meet at least one of these criteria:
- Hold any general Bachelor's or Master's degree
- Hold a CIM Introductory Certificate in Marketing (Level 2 or 3)
- Have an NVQ or SVQ Level 4 in any other subject (UK – equivalent to NGF Level 4 and above)
- Hold an International Baccalaureate (equivalent to NQF Level 3 and above) or a pass of the entry test onto Level 4
- If English is not your first language, you will also need to provide evidence of at least IELTS 6.5 or Trinity ISE III/IV.
