Description
The CILT Level 3 Award in Warehousing is designed to provide Learners with the knowledge and understanding of warehousing principles and to deliver the skills required by an aspiring warehouse manager to operate effectively. The qualification covers all of the key areas and activities of warehousing operations.
The course includes one mandatory unit, which comprises three elements:
Managing Warehousing Receiving and Storing Operation
Managing Order Picking and Despatching Goods
Managing the Provision and Care of Warehouse Resources
Successful learners can progress onto completion of a full Certificate qualification at Level 3 by completing two additional units - Business Theory and Business Application - or progress onto the CILT Level 5 Professional Diploma in Logistics and Transport.
Many people do not understand the way qualifications are structured – the levels are fairly obvious in that the higher the level the higher the level of study. However, it is often overlooked that there are different sizes of qualifications at the same levels.
Award-sized qualifications are short programmes – often achievable in a few weeks – they are still however full qualifications, recognised by the Government and employers alike and are therefore a great way to kick start new learning for new opportunities. Much less daunting than committing to months of study and exams.
Our Awards are awarded by reputable awarding organisations, internationally recognised and they are focussed on specific key areas. This means that they are not only a great way of easing yourself into learning – perhaps if you are already in the logistics, transport or facilities industries, or for other staff for familiarisation, such as those working in these industries in administration, HR, IT, finance or marketing perhaps.
They are also great add-ons to existing qualifications or study to expand understanding.

FAQs
What does study method mean?
Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.
What are CPD hours/points?
CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.
What is a ‘regulated qualification’?
A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.
What is an ‘endorsed’ course?
An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body’s logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
