Certificate in Food Safety CIEH - Level 1

It is imperative that any individual who works in an establishment where food is prepared, supplied or sold has a good understanding of food safety principles. The Level 1 – Food Safety course is designed for individuals don’t directly handle food but work near it. It is an extensive course that covers the fundamental basics of food and safety. When you work near food you need to apply best safety practices to ensure you are close to food in a healthy manner. It is an introductory course which introduces learners to the basic principles of food, safety and hygiene in an establishment where food is prepared or stored.

The Level 1 – Food Safety course will discuss a range of topics such as food hygiene, food safety practices, food contamination, how to prevent contamination and why it is important to practice food safety. It is a beginner level course for individuals with an interest in preparing food safely.

The Food Safety Act was introduced in 1990 with the sole purpose that customers do not come to any harm in a food establishment. The Level 1 – Food Safety course will give individuals insight on how to prevent customers from harm when working in a food establishment that has wrapped and pre-packed food. The course explains the risks associated with not maintaining food safety principles and how to keep food safe.

Access Duration

The course will be directly delivered to you, and you have 12 months access to the online learning platform from the date you joined the course. The course is self-paced and you can complete it in stages, revisiting the lectures at any time.

Method of Assessment

At the end of the Level 1 – Food Safety you will be evaluated through an online multiple choice exam. In order to complete this program successfully and gain your professional qualification.

Certification

Those who successfully complete the course will be awarded the Level 1 Certificate in Food Safety by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. It will make you valuable to employers, and your motivation at gaining new skills will be recognised.
