A Certificate of Continuing Education (CertCE) is the basic qualification that can be gained in higher education and it shows that you are capable of studying successfully at university level.
It will also equip you with a range of skills and knowledge useful for a career within a criminal justice setting or may enhance your existing knowledge if you already work in the sector.
You will gain understanding of crime and social and personal factors; develop critical thinking; and become confident in considering and reflecting upon sociological, legal and criminological theories.
You will also gain skills in research, time management and written communication, which are readily transferrable to the world of work.
This is an undergraduate university course, equal to the first 60 credits of a full Bachelors degree.
Studying online offers you the freedom to study when and where it suits you –at home, during your lunch hour or anywhere else where you have internet access.
You can also determine the speed of your studies. A unique feature of an online degree is that you can dictate how long it takes until you attain a degree. You can choose how many modules to take at one time and how quickly you move from one module to the next.
We believe that education should be accessible for everyone, so you do not need any previous academic qualifications to start our CertCE Criminal Justice course.
You will be allowed to start the CertCE Criminal Justice course and make an assessment of whether it is right for you during the first three weeks. You must pass your first assignment set during this time in order to continue with your studies.
If English is not your first language, your English ability should be equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.0.
