As a qualified CeMAP Mortgage Adviser, gaining an accreditation to advise on equity release will add to your skill set and increase your salary potential. Once fully qualified you will have the potential to earn over £70,000 with experience.* CeRER is a Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulated qualification.
You’ll develop specialist knowledge to understand different customer needs and be able to advise on the different types of equity release products and associated risks. The CeRER Level 3 certificate will give you the right to practice and allow you to advise property owners how to release tax-free money from their property to finance their lives and for gifting family members.

CeRER Course Units
There are two course units:
Unit 1 – Fundamentals of Equity Release (FOER)
- The principles of equity release
- Types of schemes available and the circumstances in which equity release may be appropriate
- The advantages, disadvantages and potential risks to consumers
Unit 2 – Equity Release Solutions (EQRS)
- Selecting suitable equity release solutions to meet circumstances of different types of consumers
How is it assessed?
When the time comes to take your exam, we will guide you through the process.
The core Equity Release module is assessed through a single 2 hour objective exam, split into two units. Unit 1 is 50 multiple-choice questions, and Unit 2 comprise 3 case studies with 10 linked multiple-choice questions.
The exam is conducted either at a Pearson VUE testing centre or take your exam online, in the comfort of your home.
The exam (including registration fee) is not included in the cost of the course.
**How does the Exam Pass Guarantee work?
With our Exam Pass Guarantee, if you do not pass the exam after attending this training course with us, you will be eligible to attend the same training again for free.
All we ask is that you:
- Attend all class days and complete all assignments
- Take the exam within 30 days of completing your Virtual Classroom training
- Request your course re-enrolment within 30 days of the failed exam attempt
Please Note: Students retaking the course are required to use any materials or books distributed to them in their original course session. Failure to provide these materials will result in the student being charged for replacement materials.
