Description
Catheter Care
Urinary catheterisation is the insertion into the body of a flexible tube called a catheter, to drain the bladder and collect urine. Urinary catheters are usually inserted by doctors or nurses in hospital or the community.
All healthcare workers involved in caring for patients with catheters need to understand basic catheter care, in order to achieve the best patient outcomes and minimise complications.
