Overview
Description
California's SB 1162 makes employers post pay ranges, share pay scales on request, file pay-data reports, and it bans asking about salary history. This interactive course provides practical, scenario-based training to help HR and reward teams understand their responsibilities and confidently manage compliance.
Rather than learning through slides alone, you'll take part in a realistic scenario where your decisions influence the outcome. Working through a Civil Rights Department review opened after a candidate invoked SB 1162, with pay bands 18 months stale and one day to respond, you'll audit the postings, decide how to answer the review, redline the pay policy, and classify the criteria behind each band.
During this course, you'll learn how to:
- Post job adverts with a compliant pay range under SB 1162
- Provide a pay scale on request the way California requires
- Apply the salary-history ban under Labor Code 432.3
- Prepare and file the California pay data report
- Respond to a Civil Rights Department review against the clock
- Document the criteria that justify each pay band under the Equal Pay Act
Course features:
- Immersive, decision-based learning with multiple possible outcomes
- Realistic case files, supporting documents and practical activities
- Voiced narration and realistic CRD case files
- Interactive pay-range compliance exercises
- Approximately 1 hour of self-paced online learning
- Developed by Blend Training and reviewed by qualified US employment law professionals
