Overview

This qualification is aimed at those wanting to expand their professional practice so enabling them to provide high quality person centred support. It includes a wide range of criteria with both mandatory and optional units covering areas such as supporting person-centred thinking and planning, promoting communication in health, social care or children and young people’s settings, supporting families who have a child with a disability, understanding the context of supporting individuals with learning disabilities, and implementing the positive behavioural support model.

Description

This qualification is aimed at managers, unsupervised carers or senior workers who come into contact with or will be supporting individuals with learning disabilities as part of their job role.

The knowledge and skills gained at this level will expand their professional practice, enabling them to provide high quality person centred support.

How many credits are required to complete?

The Award requires 12 credits.

How is it assessed?

It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task set by us.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
