Lecture 2 explores complex grammar and syntax in BSL. Learners examine sentence structure, non-manual signals such as facial expressions, and verb agreement and tense usage, developing greater accuracy and clarity in communication.
Lecture 3 focuses on Deaf culture and history. Learners explore Deaf culture in the UK, historical development of BSL, and contemporary issues affecting the Deaf community, supporting culturally respectful communication.
Lecture 4 examines BSL in practical settings. Learners explore how BSL is used in healthcare, education, and workplace environments, developing awareness of appropriate language use and professional boundaries.
Lecture 5 focuses on assessment and progression. Learners engage with practice assessments, prepare for the final exam, and gain clarity on course completion requirements and next steps in BSL learning.
