This short Building information modelling (BIM) course is aligned to current and future needs of professional practice in the construction industry, complemented by our extensive industrial links and staff expertise.

Building information modelling (BIM) is a key part of the Industrial Strategy: Construction 2025. The aim is to increase productivity and collaboration through the use of digital technologies. It is a requirement of the common minimum standards for procurement that all public sector projects will meet Building Information Modelling Level 2.

The construction sector is predicted to grow up to 70% by 2025, with an increasing emphasis on the integration of digital collaboration. Many organisations at present may be disadvantaged by not engaging with BIM and therefore potentially unable to tender for future public sector projects.

This short Building information modelling (BIM) course is aligned to current and future needs of professional practice in the construction industry, complemented by the extensive industrial links and staff expertise.

The course will cover the key principles of BIM project collaboration using some specific examples of its application through industry standard software such as Revit and Navisworks. Key topics at each stage will be linked to practical examples currently encountered in the sector.
