This EPA course is all online using VLE with interactive elements taken through video / phone conferencing which are available to book onto at various times and dates. Very supportive, qualified trainers accessible throughout the course. A busy online forum to chat with other delegates about EPA. The qualification covers assessment methods that are used in the majority of assessment plans for approved apprenticeship standards. It has been designed to support assessors in understanding the different types of EPA and the role of the EPA Assessor. It will enable you to apply new EPA methodologies while making the distinction between end-point and ongoing assessment and covers learning outcomes and assessment criteria that focus on EPA grading and quality assurance processes.

Description
Feel confident in dealing with EPA and get ahead of your competition for work with EPA Organisations. Independent EPA work will increase throughout this year and beyond as more apprentices complete their learning, don’t get left behind
- The course is online using a Virtual Learning Environment, you will be able to submit your assignments and get feedback and track your progression
- You will have a personal tutor who will also be taking the online discussions / workshops and be available for feedback and assistance throughout
- It is interactive with group discussions using a simple to use meeting system and a peer forum for use during and after the course
- If you and a team of colleagues would like to do the discussion together, you can let us know and we will book a time specifically for your group to attend
Very flexible learning at your own pace with excellent support available:
- You will work through the knowledge components of the course by watching PowerPoints, videos and reading on the VLE, with signposting for external additional research you may want to do.
- You will be able to submit your assignments for assessment and feedback as you go along
- Once you are ready to do the performance element you will book onto an online discussion with others on the course (usually around 4 delegates and a tutor) to discuss your judgements with others. Think of this like … if you were attending a course and you break into groups on your table to have a workshop / discussion.
- You will complete all elements of the course at your own pace, at your own time

Who is this course for?
This qualification has been designed to support those who plan to assess apprentices undertaking end-point assessments (EPAs). It will provide specific knowledge and skills for those who already have sector competence within the areas of approved apprenticeship standards but would like to gain a more specialised understanding of EPA processes and practices. It will support them to understand and use EPA principles and practices to assess an apprentice against an apprenticeship standard.
If you would like to undertake the course as CPD with only an attendance certificate and no requirement to attend the online discussion you can for £95, group discounts available for training provider organisations who would like staff to undertake the course either certificated or as CPD
Requirements
- Be 18 years of age or above
- Ideally be a qualified assessor – e.g., A1, CAVA, TAQA
- If you would like to undertake joint qualifications e.g., the CAVA or IQA qualifications these are also available through Grey Seal
Career path
This qualification will support your application to be an End Point Assessor. In addition, it gives greater understanding of the EPA process and will support you as a Trainer Assessor.
If not already qualified you could consider doing the Assessors or Internal Quality Assurance IQA qualifications
