Description

You will learn the skills required of an EPA and the practice and process of end point assessment . It will provide specific knowledge and skills for those who already have sector/occupational competence, but would like to gain a more specialised understanding of EPA processes and practices. It will support them to understand and use EPA principles and practices to assess an apprentice against an apprenticeship standard.

The Award has 1 unit which must be fully completed to gain the qualification

This qualification is assessed by the following method:

Part 1 - Before you attend the training, you will receive resources to read before the training and a short question and answer assignment to complete after your face to face day. You will have email contact with the tutors to give you guidance and support. This will demonstrate your understanding and knowledge.

You will email the completed assessment back to your tutor for assessment and feedback. This must be submitted within 10 days following the face-to-face event. If additional evidence is required, you will be given an individual re-submission date.

Part 2 - You will attend the face-to-face training day and this will include:

  • Information about End Point Assessment and Apprenticeships
  • How to conduct End Point Assessments
  • Effective planning for apprentices
  • Using Gateway to ensure success
  • Grading of End Point Assessments
  • Providing feedback
  • Quality Assurance and EQA processes

As part of your qualification, you will demonstrate your skills by taking part in paired activities during the day.

On successful completion of Part 1 and 2, your qualification will be complete and your certificate will be claimed from the Awarding Organisation.

FAQs

What does study method mean?

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At reed.co.uk courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

What are CPD hours/points?

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on reed.co.uk, many of which can be completed online.

What is a ‘regulated qualification’?

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

What is an ‘endorsed’ course?

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body’s logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as ABC Awards and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
