Description

The great thing about distance learning is that you can spend as much or as little time on topics as you wish. It may be that you already know about safeguarding, in which case you may choose to simply skip to the assessment, which is something you can’t do when you study in a classroom. But maybe you need to spend longer on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs… in which case, you can!

Our Award in Education and Training PDF workbook is really easy to navigate. There are lots of activities in the book for you to do if you choose to, but not if you don’t. As long as you complete all of the assessments to the required standard, you will successfully complete your Award. You have access to an experienced and qualified tutor at all times.

The Units:

Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in Education and Training

  • Understand the teaching role and responsibilities in education and training, including legislation and codes of practice
  • Understand how to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Understand relationships between teachers and other professionals.

Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training

  • Understand inclusive teaching and learning approaches– including comparing strengths and weaknesses of different approaches
  • Understand how to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment – including ways to engage and motivate learners and establish ground rules
  • Devise teaching plans
  • Deliver inclusive teaching and learning – including providing feedback
  • Review the effectiveness of your own delivery

Understanding Assessment in Education and Training

  • Understand types and methods of assessment used in education and training including comparing strengths and weaknesses of different methods
  • Involve learners and others in the assessment process – including looking at peer and self-assessment
  • Understand and use constructive feedback

Practical teaching requirements

You'll deliver a Microteach, which is a 15 minute session on a subject of your choice. This is observed by the tutor and other delegates. 45 minutes must be spent observing other delegates and providing feedback to them. You can do this in person or via a recording, so no student is disadvantaged by opting for distance learning.

If you want to complete your teaching qualification quickly at our lowest price, go for our popular Express version! You'll receive everything you need to start your course on the day you pay: buy today - start today! You'll get a PDF workbook to print yourself and video resources. You'll have up to 12 weeks to complete.

You'll receive your certificate within a few days of completion.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
