The ATHE level 5 extended Diploma is 120 credit size qualification and is equivalent level to 2nd year of Bachelors. This qualification provides learners with the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and understanding across a range of essential management subjects with a focus on the healthcare context.

The ATHE Level 5 Extended Diploma is designed for managers entering a more senior position and being exposed to new types of information and decisions.

The ATHE Level 5 Extended Diploma in Management for Health and Social Care is a 120 credit qualification. Learners must complete 8 units to complete the qualification.

Who is this course for?

This qualification is designed for students who are seeking to progress to higher education to take a Bachelor’s degree course in an area of management within the healthcare sector or wish to progress the career in management role within the Healthcare sector.

This qualification is designed for learners from aged 18 and above.

For applicants who have recently been in education or training the entry profile is likely to include one of followings:

  • prior study in Healthcare Management or related subjects at level 4 or above Or
  • a level 4 qualification for example an ATHE Level 4 Diploma in Management for Health and Social Care Or
  • other equivalent international qualifications
  • Applicants may also have relevant work experience.

Career path

Students who complete this qualification can progress to a degree programme at a range of UK Universities and claim exemptions for some of the units completed. If you do not wish to go for Full time degree then you can enrol for the postgraduate programme such as ATHE Level 6 Diploma in Management in Health and Social Care.
