Description
To provide the delegate with a basic understanding of the legislative requirements of CAR 2012 with particular reference to the Duty holder and who that could be, the surveys available, what to expect in a survey and the asbestos management plan and its use and requirement.
Principal contractors and Local Government departments are becoming aware that many of their sub-contractors are not fully aware of the implications of possible prosecution due to lack of Asbestos management within their businesses, this course will help to reassure both you and your clients.

- Asbestos awareness
- Regulation 4 Duty to manage
- Asbestos surveying
- Survey reports
- Defining which work is non licensable and licensable (inc NNLW)
- The Asbestos management plan
- Theory test
Learning Objectives
- Be familiar with types, uses, risks and likely occurrences of asbestos in
buildings and where appropriate, items of plant
- Be familiar with the requirements as set out in CAR 2012 with regard to
responsibilities
- Understand the requirements for asbestos surveys and different types of
surveys
- Be familiar with the results of an asbestos survey, how to decipher the
information contained within the asbestos survey report;
- Understand the need for an asbestos management plan and its use
Requirements
The target audience would be Supervisors/Managers/Directors of contractors whom deliver a service to principal contractors / local authorities and those whom have responsibilities to manage refurbishment works in buildings.
