This is a category A asbestos awareness course. Its aim is to help those who could come into contact with asbestos to be aware of the dangers so they can avoid being exposed to it.
The IATP are a nationally recognised not-for-profit organisation that works in conjunction with the UKs Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The IATP accreditation logo on our course gives you the confidence that our Asbestos Awareness Training has been independently audited and meets the relevant Category A training requirements set out in the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
Our course covers:
- What asbestos is
- The main types of asbestos found in the UK
- How asbestos causes harm
- The factors that affect the risk of harm being caused
- Many examples of where asbestos is found in the UK
- How to reduce the risk of being exposed to asbestos
- What to do in an emergency
Each module in our course finishes with a test. These help you to check your understanding and prepare for the end of course test.
Asbestos awareness certificate
Students that complete our asbestos awareness course and achieve 70% or more in the final assessment are able to download the certificate immediately.
Unlike many other asbestos courses, the certificate does not have an expiry date on it. The certificate also has a unique reference number so that you can demonstrate its authenticity to your clients.
