Overview

As a PRINCE2 qualified project manager, you already know all about the UK's leading project management methodology. However, do you want to learn the other skills fundamental to successful project management? The APMP qualification widens your knowledge by covering additional topics such as procurement, scheduling, the management of information, stakeholders, earned value and the interpersonal skills of leading, motivating, managing and building the team.

The focus of this intensive three-day course is to provide you with a level of knowledge that will enhance your personal effectiveness in project management and give you an additional professional qualification that is recognised worldwide.

As a PRINCE2 Practitioner you gain exemptions from the full PMQ syllabus which means you can gain the qualification based on a shorter study period.

Successful candidates are able to participate in projects from individual assignments through to large capital projects. PMQ is a qualification that successful candidates can carry from one job to another or from one industry to another.

PMQ for PRINCE2 Practitioners covers ten high level learning outcomes from the APM Body of Knowledge. Awareness of these is considered fundamental to the professional management of projects.

The sessions will include discussions, exercises, case studies and example questions. Delegates will be able to understand all elements of the PMQ syllabus, get to grips with the specific examination language, and learn strategies and tactics for approaching the examination.

The examination consists of a two-hour essay style paper with fewer questions than the full three-hour PMQ exam.

The course is fully accredited and approved by the APM, and Hemsley Fraser is an APM Accredited Training Provider.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
