Threat is defined as: 'The probability or likelihood of an attack'.
Security precautions for airports need to be appropriate to the threat level.
There are 5 Threat levels, designed to give an indication of the current likelihood of a terrorist attack. The 5 levels are.
Low - Attack unlikely
Moderate - Attack possible but not likely
Substantial - Attack strong possibility.
Severe - Attack highly likely.
Critical - Attack expected imminently.
The security response at your workplace is governed by these threat levels and it is your responsibility to ensure that you are aware of the current UK threat level.
