This Accounting Fundamentals Level 3 course consists of twenty-eight structured modules, followed by an assessment and final exam, each addressing a key area of Accounting knowledge and financial awareness.
The course begins with an overview of Accounting, explaining its purpose, scope, and role in business. Learners then study the accounting process, basic accounting concepts, conventions, and the classification of accounts, building a solid conceptual foundation.
Accounting systems are introduced alongside journals and ledgers, enabling learners to understand how financial transactions are recorded and organised. Subsidiary books and depreciation further develop understanding of routine accounting practices and asset management.
Cost accounting concepts are explored in depth, including advantages of cost accounting, cost classification, elements of cost, cost sheets, cost control, and cost reduction techniques. Learners also examine the relationship between cost accounting, financial accounting, and management accounting.
Budgeting and marginal costing introduce planning and decision-support tools, followed by standard costing, variance analysis, and cost–volume–profit analysis. These modules explain how Accounting supports performance measurement and managerial decision-making.
The course also covers cash flow management, ratio analysis, useful financial ratios, and working capital, helping learners interpret financial health and liquidity. An assessment and final exam evaluate learner understanding of Accounting fundamentals and financial analysis concepts.
