Description

The AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting will build on the skills you developed in the level 2 course, introducing you to more complex, specialist areas of accounting.

The AAT Level 3 qualification consists of the following six units:

  4. Management Accounting: Costing
  5. Ethics for Accountants
  6. Spreadsheets for Accounting

Who is this course for?

If you are already have some experience in accounting and are looking to further your career, the level 3 course will develop your accounting skills to an advanced level. Once you have finished your training and gained the AAT Level 3 Diploma, you'll be equipped for more responsibility, in your current role or a new one.

Requirements

In order to enrol you must have passed AAT Level 2 or an equivalent accounting qualification. Alternatively, you can have gained sufficient work experience in an accounting role for the Level 3 course to be appropriate.

The following entry requirements also apply:

  • You must be over the age of 18 or have a third-party payee for any financial agreement
  • You must have a solid grasp of the English language (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent if English is not your first language)
  • You must be able to attend all exams at an AAT Approved centre. Students outside the UK will incur an additional cost for international postage of textbooks

Career path

Upon completion of the AAT Level 3 course you will have an in-depth knowledge of advanced accounting processes and will also be eligible to become an AAT Full Member (MAAT). This course will qualify for a mid-level finance role such as: Credit Controller, Accounts Officer and Accounts Assistant.

The next step in the full AAT pathway is the Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4).

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
