This distance learning A Level Philosophy Course has been designed to introduce you to the key methods and concepts in philosophy through the study of four broad themes: Epistemology; Philosophy of Religion; Ethics; and Philosophy of Mind. You will develop and refine a range of transferable skills, such as the ability to ask penetrating questions, to analyse and evaluate the arguments of others and to present their own arguments clearly and logically.

This A Level Philosophy Course provides you with a broad introduction to the study of Philosophy. This course is designed to:
- develop a range of transferable skills which can be applied far beyond the study of Philosophy
- help you gain a thorough grounding in key philosophical concepts, themes, texts and techniques
- enable you to develop the ability to reason, form their own judgements, express themselves coherently and contribute to the process of debate
- show you how to consider philosophical problems through the study of a key text.

A Level Course
Paper 1, 3 hour written examination, 100% of AS, 50% of A-level, Total marks: 80
Paper 2, 3 hour written examination, 50% of A-level, Total marks: 100

The course will be delivered online including Tutor Support for two years. All assignments are marked by one of our professional Tutors who will offer regular feedback and guide you through your course. Postal assignments cannot be accepted without prior permission from the tutor and you must have access to email in order to contact your Tutor.
You will be provided with the telephone number for your dedicated Student Support Team who will be available for any other queries that you may have whilst completing your course. You can be assured that you will receive unlimited support for your home study course, so there is no need to struggle or feel isolated during your studies.
The course contains a number of assignments which your tutor will mark and give you valuable feedback on. You will also have access to a range of online resources.
Students will be required to arrange and pay for their examinations at an approved centre when an examination forms part of the course. We can provide an extensive list of these centres for you.

This course is for anyone who would like to go onto higher education or expand their knowledge of this subject.
It is recommended that students should be educated to GCSE Grade C or equivalent and have a reasonable standard of literacy. You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 24 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.
This course can help you go onto earn a degree and give you transferable skills.
