At Tinkers & Tribe we offer a unique early childhood experience where play is based on an approach called the Curiosity Approach.
The Curiosity Approach is a modern day delivery model that takes inspiration from the pioneering theorists: Emilia Reggio, Rudolph Steiner, and Maria Montessori combined with the nurturing ideas of Te Whariki (the New Zealand Curriculum) and Emmi Piker.

Tinkers & Tribe aims to empower young children by creating quality care environments that offer active learning, critical thinking and engaging play. Our eco-sustainable culture is supported by our very own forest school; Trees and Tribe. The children are inspired by their love of nature to protect their planet and care for all living things, including themselves.

We are proud to be known as “the nursery without toys!”
When we replace purpose built, plastic toys with loose parts, natural objects and authentic materials, we stimulate each child’s imagination and creativity. We aim to reclaim our children’s childhoods and bring back wholesome and inquisitive play filled with awe and wonder.
Working together to develop creative, caring and curious thinkers
