Oxford High School is an independent day school for girls. Founded by the Girls' Day School Trust in 1875, it is Oxford’s oldest girls' school and is still located firmly in the heart of Oxford, seat of Britain’s oldest university. It remains true to its heritage of pioneering girls’ education with Head, Dr Philip Hills, leading a school offering girls a potent mix of academic rigour balanced carefully against numerous opportunities to have a go; whether it’s exploring their creativity or discovering their adventurous side, they all grow in integrity and responsibility.
Oxford High's whole-school approach means all girls, from 4 to 18 years, are treated as individuals who can leave OHS prepared to face the challenge of adult life with self-confidence, resilience and robustness – alongside their continued exceptional exam successes. This year has seen OHS’s best year yet for GCSEs with 95% of results being A*/A, and 76% of all A Levels A*/A.
Tatler’s School Guide 2015 reviewed Oxford High as having girls who were ‘fearless and independent’ and applauded the school's drive to end the culture of Little Miss Perfect and allow girls to learn to cope with failure in order to achieve inner strength and belief.
