What we do

Future Foundations is an independent training organisation which believes in the power of people. We have delivered pioneering training programmes with thousands individuals between the ages of 8 and 24 in the last ten years.

Future Foundations has 5 key principles which are a reflection of our staff and the behaviour we encourage in the young people we work with.

  • Take Responsibility - Owning your actions, your future and your impact.
  • Pursue Your Passion - Finding what makes you want to wake up every day and bringing your unique energy to life.
  • Contribute Your Talents - Finding a need and using our talents to meet those needs.
  • Enjoy The Journey - Striving to live in the present and enjoy the journey of life.
  • Be Authentic - Staying true to who you are and what you believe in.

Our mission is to inspire young people to achieve their full potential and become leaders in their lives and within society.

Who you'll work with

NCS is all about helping young people get ahead in life and learn some fantastic new skills, meet some amazing new people and find out how they can make a real difference in their local communities.

We deliver NCS in North East Derbyshire, Bassetlaw and and Newark & Sherwood.

NCS is a 4 week experience and young people do different activities and discover new places during each phase.

  • Phase 1 (week 1) - Adventure
  • Phase 2 (week 2) - Discovery
  • Phase 3 (weeks 3 & 4) - Social Action
  • Graduation - Celebration

In the Adventure phase our young people will be going camping in the heart of the Peak District to experience outdoor challenges, meeting new people and building confidence.

In the Discovery phase the young people will learn valuable new skills through a range of interactive workshops and experience what it is like to live independently away from home.

In the Social Action phase each team of young people will use their new skills to create a community project to benefit the local area. The teams choose, design and create their own project around a cause that they are passionate about.

The Graduation event at the end of the NCS programme is for the young people to celebrate what they have accomplished with their friends and family.
