Who you'll work with

FM:Systems Europe is seeking a Field Engineer to deploy our sensor technology across the United Kingdom and beyond.  In this role, the chose candidate will work mainly at customers sites during the week and at differing time across the day (workdays, weekends and out of hours) The individual will possess a passion for technology, excellent written/verbal skills and be a key member of the team.  

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Install and test sensor systems in client’s buildings across the UK and beyond.
  • Work within a high performing team of field engineers and project managers
  • Complete job sheets for project completion
  • Assess 2D CAD plans to confirm the hardware required to complete the install and project.
  • Prepare equipment for installations in the office prior to going to client site
  • Complete site visits/surveys to check for layout changes and assess radio noise levels and range
  • Complete the installation by Installing sensors and hosts (must be physically fit to install over 400 sensors in a day), this will include bending and crawling under desks for a prolonged time
  • Confirm system is operational prior to leaving site - acute attention to detail and accuracy is required
  • Create professional floor plan images using AutoCAD (full training on AutoCAD will be provided)
  • Liaise with the FM:Systems project team and the customer team when on site.
  • Troubleshoot any issues onsite

The successful candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Needs full driving license as there will be extensive travel nationwide (you will be out of the office most of the week)
  • Have a passion for technology.
  • Will relish the opportunity to join a rapidly growing & high performing team.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with IT and facilities managers to complete the install, as well as the managers who will be using the data.
  • Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training.
  • Have a ‘can do’ attitude and be able to proactively problem solve when working alone.
  • Must be able to pass a DBS check.
  • Will manage their own time whilst on site including travel arrangements.
  • Due to the type of product (desk sensors) we mainly install outside of office hours, so there is evening work involving working away from home.
