Emmaus Bristol helps people out of homelessness and poverty.
We provide a home, support, training and work experience for formerly homeless men and women (known as Companions) in Bristol as well as family homes for those in housing need, and move-on homes.
Companions volunteer in our social enterprises, gaining work experience and skills to help them into future employment. We have three shops, an online store and a warehouse to collect, sort, upcycle and sell donated pre-loved furniture, clothes and household items. Emmaus Bristol has a business incubator for small businesses, charities and social enterprises.
We are a local charity, serving Bristol and surrounding areas, and are one one of hundreds of Emmaus communities around the world.
Working together to end homelessness in Bristol
Working at Emmaus Bristol is endlessly interesting and rewarding.
Whether you work in our support team, social enterprise team or in finance or maintenance, you have the satisfaction of knowing that your hard work is helping people out of homelessness. As companions volunteer in our social enterprises as well as taking on duties at home, you will be working alongside companions as well as other employees and volunteers.
“What we have here at Emmaus Bristol is really something special. I’ve never had a job like this before.” Ettie, Office Assistant
