DistanceLearningCentre.com was set up in 1993 by an experienced group of teachers and lecturers. We felt that many people would like to study, but were unable to attend regular classes. We wanted to give everyone the opportunity to access excellent, flexible learning from home. Today, we are the UK's leading virtual college for Access to Higher Education. Each year our successful students go on to study at over 100 different universities across the UK.

We are committed to providing high-quality qualifications at affordable prices and this is backed up by our excellent reputation with universities and the fact that over 30% of our learners have been recommended by friends, family, colleagues and education/careers advisors.

We are also commited to providing proactive individual support to our learners from helpful, friendly subject-specialist tutors. Many of our learners have been out of education for some years and helping to build confidence and celebrate achievement is key to helping them to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

We liaise with universities on a regular basis to ensure that the content of our courses are in line with what they are looking for from their applicants and help our learners to complete their UCAS appications as a built-in part of the service.

Unlike many distance learning providers who simply provide assessors to mark students' work, we employ fully-qualified professional teachers which also means that the level of feedback provided for learner assessments is held up as a model of good practice by our Awarding Body.

DistanceLearningCentre.com Tutors work from home. The managers, Student Services and other administration staff work as a small,  friendly, close-knit team from the central office in Todmorden.
