Working at Delicious Ideas

Clive, Jan, Emma & Jonathan Potter started Sweet Ideas in 1991, selling confectionery and snacks to local independents in Cambridgeshire. They launched their own confectionery branded packs in 1994. As they were growing and growing, they needed someone to help get the abundance of orders out to customers so they enlisted the help of ‘Uncle Keith’ (yes we all call him that even though he’s not our Uncle)

The year of 2001 brings the new launch of ‘Healthyideas’ (the ever growing brand you see today) and to help with sales of this new launch, Sweet Ideas employ their first ‘non-family member’ employee, star salesman (very modest), Phil Core. (And no coincidence at all) The company then hits a £1 million turnover! (Woo!!)

In 2007, Directors, Clive, Jonathan & Emma invest in their own contract packing business, Manasty Packing Ltd with 2 custom built packing lines giving them the capacity to pack 250,000 packs per week. Shortly after this, Sweet Ideas Ltd launch 2 new product ranges, Deliciousideas Popcorn & Deliciousideas Bakery.

Fast forward to 2009, Sweet Ideas Ltd move into new purpose built premises, which leads the company to a record-breaking £3 million turnover and increases it’s (non-family member employees) to 14! 

With the growing ‘Healthy Eating’ trend in mind, Sweet Ideas Ltd launches a new ‘Snackideas’ range in 2015 which splits the previously named ‘Healthyideas’ into 3 categories so customers can identify what they are buying.

Last year, Manasty Packing Ltd achieved a BRC accreditation to AA standard and invested in a new packing line taking capacity to 500,000 packs per week. (Yes, there is no stopping them now!)

Our most popular brand of ‘Healthyideas’ / ‘Deliciousideas’ / ‘Snackideas’ hanging bags sold an astounding 5 million packs in 2016 and our client base reaches 5000 across the UK & Ireland.

Moving things into 2017, we launched a brand new range called #SNACKBOOST – one of our proudest achievements to date! A fantastic new impulse range and a perfect enhancement to the snacking category. The range boasts many benefits including; CQUIN Compliant, Gluten free, Vegan & Veggie friendly, Sugar free sweets, GBS Compliant, Ideal for vending (and that’s not even all of them!)
