What we do

Confidentiality
The post holder is required not to disclose such information, particularly that relating to patients and staff. All employees are subject to the Data Protection Act 1998 and must not only maintain strict confidentiality in respect of patient and staff records, but the accuracy and integrity of the information contained within. The post holder must not at any time use personal data held by Barndoc Healthcare Limited for any unauthorised purpose or disclosure such as data to a third party. You must not make any disclosure to any unauthorised person or use any confidential information relating to the business affairs of Barndoc Healthcare Limited, unless expressly authorised to do so by an authorised representative of Barndoc Healthcare Limited.

Data Protection
The post holder will, if required to do so, obtain, process and/or use any information held on a computer or word processor in a fair and lawful way. Data will only be held for the specified registered purpose and will not be disclosed to any unauthorised persons or organisations.

Information Governance
It is essential that we are all aware that we work in an environment where confidential information is processed. We need to ensure we hold, transfer and dispose of this information securely.

We must never discuss patient details unless in the interests of patient care, or for training or audit purposes. We must dispose of any patient or staff identifiable information by deleting or shredding, and we must take care of smartcards and computers.

We must ensure we have the correct consent or authority before we give out any personal information to anyone.

Safeguarding of Children and Adults
All staff within their working role must be able to recognise any child or adult where there is a safeguarding concern and respond appropriately according to the organisation’s Standard Operating Procedures. All staff will undergo training in safeguarding and be able to access and follow the agreed safeguarding guidance, procedures and advice in order to protect children and adults and fully comply with all aspects of their responsibility. All staff should understand the principles of information sharing where children or a vulnerable adult are in need or at risk and refer to the appropriate agency within appropriate timescales.
